PLACKART SYSTEMS

We keep the systems a business runs on working, and we tell you the truth about them. The company is being formed now. This page describes what it will do and what it will not.

What we doHow this is being built

QUIET IS THE POINT

The measure of good technology service is not how quickly somebody answers the phone. It is how seldom anyone has to pick it up.

Four lines of work

Where the effort goes

Small organisations rarely need everything. They need the handful of things that decide whether a bad Tuesday costs an afternoon or a quarter.

Operations

Managed IT

Endpoints, identity, network, backup. The monitoring that notices a failing disk before its owner does, and the patch schedule that is actually kept rather than merely published.

Partnership

Co-managed IT

Some organisations already have somebody good. They are outnumbered. We take the queue nobody has capacity for and leave the internal team owning the relationship, because replacing a trusted colleague with a vendor is usually a downgrade.

Resilience

Security and continuity

Mail authentication, least-privilege access, patch discipline, restores that have been tested rather than assumed. None of it is interesting. All of it is what decides how an incident ends.

Build

Systems and web

The small internal tools and public sites that accumulate around a working business, built so they can be handed to somebody else later without an apology.

How we price

Per seat, published, boring

A rate card exists so that a conversation about scope does not become a conversation about price.

Pricing goes on the services page the day the company can sign an agreement. Until then, quoting a number here would be a promise nobody is able to keep.

What will not appear

There will be no per-incident billing on a managed agreement. It rewards the wrong thing. A provider paid by the ticket has a quiet incentive to leave the underlying fault alone, and over a few years that incentive wins.

Before there is anything to sell

Worth a conversation, or worth waiting?

The honest answer today is that Plackart Systems cannot take an engagement yet. If the approach sounds right, say so now and you will hear when it can.
